The need for timely texts in cardiology has never been greater. Textbooks provide an overview of established knowledge and, in this era, are indispensable for information management. The exponential growth of information and its haphazard presentation in different journals taxes the practitioners' ability to keep current. In summarizing knowledge across a broad front, the timely textbook facilitates the consumption of information and expedites its application to practice.
