The arrangement of the topics in this work is different from that in the usual textbook of pharmacology. The chapters are labeled according to the primary clinical use of the drug. Thus digitalis is discussed in the chapter on drugs that stimulate cardiac muscle and quinidine in the chapter on depressants. Both appear in the section entitled "The Pharmacology of Muscle."
