Faculty of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, are the contributors to this guide for house officers and primary care physicians. The first section, which reviews diagnostic procedures, includes an extensive chapter on Bayes' theorem and the statistical aspects of diagnostic tests. Other chapters cover exercise stress testing, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiologic testing, the electrocardiogram, cardiovascular radiology, and systolic time intervals. The discussions of history and physical examination, lipid studies, cardiac enzymes, electrocardiographic monitoring, and management of drug therapy were pleasant surprises. Each chapter gives sufficient detail for a good understanding of how the study is done
