A superbly illustrated atlas with color photographs, charts, and anatomic drawings that would interest not only surgeons but anatomists, cardiologists, and anesthesiologists. The layout is clear and well organized, helping the reader to more easily locate intricate structures within every chamber. A novel "surgical orientation axis" accompanies the photographs so one need not stand on one's head to immediately grasp details. Electrophysiologists will appreciate the attention to detail in Chapter 4, Surgical Anatomy of The Conduction System. First-year medical students might find this atlas a helpful companion in the dissection laboratory for its details of cardiac structure.
