To the editor: The recent article by Lohr and Brook (1) is appalling for the completely inadequate experimental design it reports and the blatant bias against osteopathic physicians. To publish the article under the guise of "academia and clinic" is an extreme irony. The comparison of M.D.s and D.O.s based on total episodes of respiratory illness without regard to the specific numbers and categories of M.D.s and D.O.s is little short of libelous.
