When a medical student or generalist asks me for a reference on back, neck, arm or foot pain I generally give him the title of one of Dr. Cailliet's excellent monographs. They are all fast reading and well illustrated. The books give the reader a very well-organized "lecture" on the topic, containing a substantial amount of useful information. Dr. Cailliet has taken appropriate parts from his previous books on shoulder dysfunction and added material specifically relevant to the affected hemiplegic extremity. As in the other books, the presentation is straightforward and the illustrations are exceptionally clear and useful. The line
