This research was carried out under a grant from the Department of Health of the Province of Ontario. Three glasses: 1. Vitaglass, manufactured in England, 2. Vioray glass, 3. Corning Special glass, which have been claimed will transmit the antirachitic rays of sunshine were experimentally tested out with animals placed on a rachitogenic diet (McCollum's). As a result of their experiments these investigators concluded that the antirachitic effect of the sun's rays (including skyshine) through Vitaglass, Vioray glass and Corning special glass is from 25 to 50 per cent of the antirachitic effect obtained without the use of glass.
