Any paper on the subject of "Rheumatism" at this time might almost be properly begun with an apology, for the reason that all clinicians of today are much confused in their own minds as to just what is meant by rheumatism. To many, rheumatism still means any sort of arthritis or almost any disease condition which is largely characterized by a nontraumatic joint inflammation.
