Diseases of the anus and rectum are the most neglected of all the pathologic conditions affecting the human organism. Just why this is true is difficult to explain. Both women and men have an inherent reluctance in volunteering information concerning abnormal conditionst about the anus. They frequently use the various advertised nostrums to treat themselves, rather than seek medical advice.
