This book is the result of thirty years' experience of experimental hypnosis and hypnotic treatment. Its main object is to draw attention to the importance of hypnotism and its phenomena in order to stimulate inquiry into what is still a mysterious and unexplored subject. Suggestion plays a very important part in our mental development, and in our intercourse with our fellows. No one can escape its influence.
