In the German daily press there have appeared statements that by means of the Gerson diet the severest cases of pulmonary tuberculosis have not only greatly improved but have been practically cured. On the other hand in the scientific tuberculosis literature there has been only unfavorable mention of the method and its results. Schwalm put 20 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis on the Gerson diet in connection with mineralogen and phosphorus cod-liver oil. In some of the cases the use of cod-liver oil was omitted in order to try out more conclusively the effects of the Gerson diet and the mineralogen.
