If one may judge from the literature, all of the animal experimental work on the heredity of cancer susceptibility has not made a very deep impression on the general medical mind, because in very few textbooks on pathology and special works on cancer, and in the propaganda literature of associations for the prevention or control of cancer, very little, if any, emphasis is laid upon the part played by heredity in the etiology of neoplasms.
