To serve as a connecting link between systematic protozoology and clinical medicine in respect to the protozoan parasites of the alimentary tract is the purpose of this monograph. The author properly recognizes that most practitioners of medicine are concerned only with the pathogenic significance, recognition and treatment of a limited number of important parasites. Technical descriptions, such as the professional protozoologist would require, are largely omitted or rewritten in a manner understandable to those doing medical laboratory work.
