Despite the immense amount of work that has been done on various problems that have to do with the suprarenals, the question as to the weight of an average, fresh, normal gland still remains in doubt and no figures whatever are as yet available as to the weight of its medulla. Now to be sure, insofar as the first question is concerned, it is possible to set up a tentative average value by means of data to be found in the literature of the subject.
