Everyone who had the good fortune to know Dr. Hibbs will realize how well the author of this treatise has portrayed his character.
Dr. Hibbs was a most striking figure at all times; he spoke with a decisiveness that carried conviction, not only by reason of his deep voice and strong face, but also because he would "back-up" his statements with figures that carried authority. He was keenly interested in developing young surgeons and was always ready to offer counsel, to open pathways for advancement, and to stick by his man; he was a stimulating personality by example as well
