The medico-legal aspects of insulin reactions in diabetics have not aroused the deserved interest in the medical world. Only two reports1, 2 on this subject could be found in the literature. Despite the experience of physicians with the bizarre psychotic manifestations of hypoglycemia in their diabetic patients and the legal conflicts arising therefrom, it is surprising that the medical profession has neglected reporting such cases. Thus it is that 15 years after the introduction of insulin therapy there is still no standard legal precedent or procedure to handle such incidents.
