Severe disorders of fat metabolism are not extremely rare and the following case report is not submitted because of the rarity of the condition, but rather to relate the results of certain therapeutic efforts in this disease.
The patient was a white woman 49 years old at the time of examination in May 1939. She then complained of bright orange colored nodules on the palms of her hands, on the elbows, feet, knees and other areas of the skin which were frequently irritated by friction. This condition was of about four years' duration and was becoming more extensive.
