For some time we have been amazed at some of the unusual concomitants of dental disorders, especially with reference to the cause of pain so frequently seen in and around the face. The subject has been copiously reviewed as "Atypical Face Pain" by McElin and Horton,1 and Glaser,2, 3, 4 to whose papers and bibliographies one is referred. These authors have in the main dealt with the pathways by which pain is referred, and have attempted to treat the pain by an attack on the pathway, while Kelly and Langheinz5 appear to have made a step in attacking the cause
