The rôle which the eosinophil has lately been assigned as an indicator of adrenal cortical function, has once more focused the limelight on this elusive cell. This recent prominence has served to emphasize our ignorance of its function. Despite a considerable volume of investigative work directed at elucidating eosinophilic function, the cell has succeeded in guarding its secret well.
