When, in 1905, Fraenkel introduced intravenous therapy with strophanthin, he probably never thought that oral strophanthin, discredited and abandoned for valid reasons, would be revived in 1951.
On 382 pages, the benefits to be derived from strophanthin given orally are expounded. If the author has hoped to convince the skeptical reader by scientific argument and clinical examples, he has achieved exactly the opposite result.
