The influence of fat in the diet has been described as an important factor in the causation of atherosclerosis by Dock,1 Hueper,2 Moreton,3 Gofman,4 Morrison5a and other observers. A related theory has developed which holds that atherosclerosis is "a disorder of lipid and/or lipoprotein metabolism," rather than the inevitable result of old age and the hopeless rusting out of the arteries.5b
