The rarity of duodenal sarcoma has been repeatedly stressed by various authors,2, 3, 5, 9, 13, 14, 21, 26 and the literature consists primarily of single case reports.2, 6, 11, 12, 24, 27, 32 We add another case report to show how a definitive preoperative diagnosis can be made by the cytologic method. In the past the clinical diagnosis of this condition was infrequent because obstructive symptoms in small bowel sarcoma are unusual in contrast to carcinoma.
