The Physiology of Induced Hypothermia is a record of a Symposium held in October of 1955 in Washington, D. C. under the auspices of the Division of Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Research Council.
The Chairman of the Symposium, Dr. Robert D. Dripps, has done a superb job of editing and correlating the wide and varied collection of material. The volume deals first with the physiologic effects of hypothermia on the organism as a whole and then considers the effects on specific systems. It concludes with a discussion of the clinical applications of hypothermia
