This book is designed primarily for students and for practicing physicians who are not themselves specialists in fluid and electrolyte problems. Regrettably, it is not one which this reviewer can recommend with as much enthusiasm as he would like.
Disregarding many debatable minor points, there are, it seems to me, two major criticisms. First, although fundamental principles are fully reviewed and rightly stressed, diagnosis and management of specific clinical situations are often discussed rather empirically and with too much oversimplification.
