Product of a symposium organized by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Science in 1961 and devoted to physiologic and pathologic aspects of the hypoxic brain, this book is composed of many brief papers by most of the 35 conference participants. Of particular interest are the rather detailed discussions of these papers that punctuate the text. Many of the papers are from European laboratories; some of these data have not been previously reported in English.
