This small monograph by Dr. Woodward represents a brief survey of the problems encountered by the patient once his ulcer has been surgically approached. The immediate dumping problem, the delayed postprandial difficulties, malabsorption, and anemia problems are the chief topics of discussion. The immediate dumping problem is the most thoroughly treated, whereas the other topics receive less detailed discussion. One cannot hope to gather a true idea of the incidence of these problems, as the literature is not reviewed to any significant degree.
