These proceedings admirably demonstrate the impetus given to each other by convergence of groups of scientists engaged in what previously had been somewhat separate areas of endeavor. Recent discoveries have led to the merging of interests of medical investigators studying the pathogenesis of hypertension with those concerned with control of aldosterone secretion. When a large number of excellent, active investigators in a rapidly moving field assemble to tell each other of their most recent findings and how the new information extends or refutes old concepts and initiates new ones, a profitable experience is commonplace.
