Once a diagnosis has been established, the physician frequently wishes to consult an up-to-date and authoritative reference concerning optimum therapy. Since Current Pediatric Therapy is presumably meant to supplement rather than to replace some recent standard pediatrics textbooks, the physician may anticipate that it will dwell solely on treatable illnesses, focus primarily on diseases in which recent innovations have made possible more effective therapy, offer more detailed and perhaps more practical information than is available in standard textbooks and, possibly, discuss pros and cons of alternate methods of treatment when these have been proposed.
