Bass' small book is beautifully printed and equally well-illustrated with sketches and legible charts. The material presented ranges from descriptions of basic pulmonary physiological apparatus (including some technical details of testing) to fairly complex discussion of physiological variables not readily measured in this country. Body plethysmographs are not usual or standard laboratory equipment, even in many pulmonary laboratories.
