An introduction to the basic physics and instrumentation of the rapidly developing applications of radioactive isotopes. In Part I, Dr. Quimby introduces concepts of radioactivity, interaction of radiation and matter, dosage calculations, and health physics in the handling of radioisotopes. In Part II, Dr. Feitelberg discusses the tools for the various applications of radioisotopes in medicine. The authors did not intend to cover the field completely, but the newcomer to this field will find this book an excellent introduction.
