The clue to the puzzle is on page 138: "Woodliff, H. J. (1962): Blood and bone marrow cell cultures. Ph.D. Thesis, Cambridge University." I suspect that this book, which should carry the subtitle "Annotated Bibliography by a Beginner for a Beginner," is closely similar. Its chief value lies in the 37 pages of references, with titles, and in the addresses of cell culture societies and suppliers of media.
Chapters cover methods of culture, observation and evaluation of cell cultures, cultures of normal and abnormal blood and bone marrow cells, and effect of nutrients and stimulants and of cytotoxic therapeutic agents.
