As a change from monographs, this volume might be described as a triograph with encore. It deals with leukemia and amyloidosis and contains lecture on 30 years of research into the etiologic types of liver cirrhosis by Paul Steiner and papers on various subjects, beginning with enteritis caused by a herring parasite. As one may gather from the title of the sponsoring organization, environmental considerations form the unifying theme of the collection. Of the 39 papers, there are 26 in English, 7 in German and 6 in French; no multilingual summaries are provided (in fact, no summaries at all).
