In a previous publication we presented our preliminary results with attempts at photoscanning parathyroid adenomas using 75Se-methionine. We have now performed over 30 photoscans on eight patients with a clinical diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism. Neck explorations have been performed on six of these patients and the clinical diagnosis was confirmed. The parathyroid scans were negative in five of the eight patients studied. Of the three patients in whom scans were read as positive, one patient had a small parathyroid adenoma in a position not corresponding to the scan picture.
