Dr. Luisada's book is based on his 25 years of experience with phonocardiography.
Most readers will probably find the illustrations of sound recordings, although numerous, confusing. They have been recorded with many types of instruments of various vintages. Some show time lines (without indication of the time intervals); some do not. In some illustrations the phonocardiograms are sharp and clear, while in others they are faint and ill-defined. Many illustrations are confusing in that so many pressure curves and first derivatives are recorded that the reader will find them impossible to follow.
