Within the limits of an 877-small-page synopsis, the authors have prepared a remarkably complete text on cardiology. Their stated aim of summarizing cardiovascular disease in a "concise and readable form without sacrificing completeness" is well realized. The book includes chapters on rehabilitation, air travel and the cardiac patient, disability compensation, and insurability, as well as the usual subjects. Listing of up to 15 well-chosen references after each chapter provides a guide for further reading.
