To the Editor: I am writing this letter to call your attention to a number of errors and misconceptions reported in an article by LeRoy and Guerrant, entitled "Breathing Mechanics in Asthma," published in the October 1965 issue of the ANNALS OF INTERNAL MEDICINE. On p. 579, there is a statement in which the authors quote Marshall as saying that the functional residual capacity (FRC) increases as the lung compliance decreases.
