Dr. Schuell has attempted to classify aphasias from a practical viewpoint, that is, she wishes to cast light on their prognosis and aid their treatment rather than to illuminate neurophysiologic function by an examination of "interesting" cases. Within these limits she shows herself a leader in the field of speech therapy, though doubtless leaving unsatisfied the more intellectualizing of neurologists.
