The compiler of this annotated bibliography (no kin!) is to be commended for what must have seemed an unending task. He has gathered together what appears to be the majority of available references concerned with the development of oral therapy for diabetes, particularly tolbutamide. Articles listed deal with a great diversity of topics: from the 1957 paper of Ashmore, Cahill, and Hastings on inhibition of glucose-6-phosphatase by sulfonylureas to the paper of Goldner, Zarowitz, and Akgun calling attention to the hyperglycemic effects of thiazide derivatives, and even including several papers on the use of tolbutamide in the treatment of ischemic
