This laboratory manual is the result of a workshop held at Children's Hospital in San Francisco in 1959 on electrophoresis. It presents practical information for carrying out a number of electrophoretic procedures including cellulose acetate agar gel, starch and acrylamide gels; and describes techniques for dealing with hemoglobins, haptoglobins, hemoglobin hybridization, amino acids, glycoproteins and mucopolysaccharides, thyroxine-binding globulin, macroglobulins, lactic dehydrogenase isoenzymes, and immunoelectrophoresis. Recommended for medical school, hospital laboratories and clinical pathologists who must teach these techniques.
