Spatiocardiography is an electronic technique for recording the electric field of the heart three-dimensionally. Although the author is firm in his belief that spatiocardiography has surpassed scalar electrocardiography and is superior to vectorcardiography, this book will convince few readers. In fact, most of the discussion is a rehash of the developments which occurred in vectorcardiography during the 1950's—a period when more emphasis was placed on physical accuracy than on clinical usefulness.
The first five chapters deal with methodology, mathematical principles, and electrophysiology. There are also chapters devoted to clinical spatiocardiography, other lead systems, and the cellular physiology of the heart.
