Nuclear medicine is an emerging and as yet not sharply defined specialty that includes the use of radioactive isotopes in procedures that would otherwise be considered in the domains of radiology, hematology, internal medicine, pediatrics, or other clinical specialties. Progress in the field involves instrumentation and dosimetry as well as clinical applications.
Consisting of 30 articles by a total of 41 contributors, the present volume is based on papers given at a symposium held in March 1965 at the Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. One of the speakers was from Egypt; the others represented all areas of the United States.
