With the availability of eight drugs for the chemotherapy of pulmonary tuberculosis and with at least three investigational drugs of significance, the drug treatment of tuberculosis has become much more complex than before. For this reason Dr. Cohen has provided a monograph that clearly and accurately describes each drug used in tuberculosis treatment today and how these drugs of various effectiveness and toxicity are best used in clinical situations. The 13 chapters are well organized, and the text is adequately supported by 188 references although certain standard and classic references are omitted.
