Now well settled in his editorial saddle, Dr. Schwartz has again ridden through the jungle of journals and returned with an ample harvest of tough nuts and soft fruit for clinical endocrinologists to bite, chew, swallow, and digest. The selection of important and representative literature for review is in largest part a function of the reviewer's industry, knowledge, and critical sense; and Dr. Schwartz is obviously blessed with these qualities. But, as Dr. Schwartz himself has noted in several footnotes (p. 87, "Chacun à son goût"; and p. 91, "de gustibus"), judgment is also a matter of taste. I think
