The revival of interest in the small lymphocyte in the past 10 years has produced an overwhelming mass of new literature. The primary benefit provided by this book is the bibliography of 777 references—many of which deal with the recent findings. There is, not unexpectedly, a bit of provincial nationalism in the bibliography in that several of the newer findings are accredited to English workers despite simultaneous or in some cases even earlier description from non-English laboratories.
The text on the whole is a competent but somewhat colorless listing of results of experiments in various aspects of lymphocyte physiology. The
