Into the tight space of 128 pages Dr. Jackson has packed concise but highly readable accounts of the physiology of calcium and phosphate, of bone growth and remodeling, of metabolic bone disease, and of related topics. As one should expect, the disorders involving the parathyroids get emphasis, along with D-deficient and -resistant rickets and osteomalacia.
