Dr. Talbott's well-known monograph appears in a new edition, which shows several notable changes from the second (1964).
Since the publication of the second edition the author's status as grandfather has been extended, and this is reflected in a new dedication. In addition to a new granddaughter in Dr. Talbott's family, allopurinol has come along and is considered at proper length. The major addition is a new chapter by Dr. Seegmiller, "Intermediary Purine Metabolism."
