I was disappointed in this book, and, despite what is said in preface and introduction, its purpose is not clear to me. It is divided into two roughly equal parts. The first, entitled "Pathophysiological Basis," appears to be written almost entirely by the editor; for the second part, "Physiological Methods in Clinical Praxis," he has enlisted the aid of 13 of his Swedish colleagues.
In the table of contents, which takes up 11 unnumbered pages, the chapters are shown elaborately divided and subdivided, suggesting to me a degree of explanatory detail, which, in Part One certainly, I did not find.
