Second edition of a short textbook on kidney disease. Opening sections on renal structure and function and on functional testing are followed by chapters on differential diagnosis of such manifestations as edema, hypertension, hematuria, and acute oliguria. Most of the book is taken up by pathophysiology, pathology, clinical presentation, and treatment of the main types of renal disease including stone and tumor. Relatively small number of illustrations. Not as thorough a German text as the earlier ones by Sarre and by Reubi, a fact implied by the title "Kidney Primer."
