This monograph describes the alterations in the individual cells of fixed tissue sections and of those in smears occurring in disease of various organs. Emphasis is on the minute structure of the nucleus as seen by the oil immersion objective of the light microscope. The author uses the following criteria for comparison:  nuclear cytoplasmic ratio,  appearance of nuclear chromatin,  chromocenters and chromatin bands,  nuclear clear areas,  nucleoli,  multinucleated cells.
