It is sad to contemplate the neglect of medical history in medical education today. The excuse is that there is so much information to be crammed into the recording tapes of the brain that there is no time for an account of the accomplishments of the past on which we have built. Like the study of human evolution and embryology which are accepted in the curricula of college and medical school, so the study of the history of medical science should find a place in the curriculum of every medical school.
